Snowdon’s Schlotter earns state honors

Catheleen Schlotter, Snowdon Elementary School assistant principal and intervention and re-engagement specialist, was named the “Washington State School Social Worker of the Year” at a recent conference in Seattle. Schlotter previously served the district as a counselor.

Medical Lake High earns bronze medal

Medical Lake High School recently earned a bronze medal in the U.S. News Best High School national rankings. Schools are ranked based on their performance on state-required tests and how well they prepare students for college.

Lordan Memorial Little Free Library

Windsor Elementary School students who would like some extra reading materials can borrow a book from the Lisa Lordan Memorial Little Free Library, which is outside the front door of the building. Students can also leave any books they think their classmates would enjoy.

The library was named after Lisa Lordan, a first-grade teacher who passed away in 2014.

MLHS Honor Society students offer tutoring

The Medical Lake High School National Honors Society is offering tutoring during lunch in the counseling center.

Tutoring will be available every day, during lunch until May.

Eastern Theatre stages ‘Our Town’

Eastern Washington University’s Theatre program is staging a production of “Our Town” on the following dates: Nov. 11-12, 18 and 19 at 7:30 p.m., Nov. 17 at 5 p.m., Nov. 20 at 2 p.m. An educational matinee is tentatively on Nov. 18 at 10 a.m.

Written by Thorton Wilder, and directed by Sara Goff, “Our Town” is a three-act play that tells the story of the fictional American small town of Grover’s Corners.

Community tickets are $10. Admission is free for EWU students.
