ML volleyball drops pair of matches

The losing streak reached 12 matches for the MedicalLake High School volleyball team with a pair of 3-0 losses last week to Colville and Deer Park.

“Tuesday started out rough and I thought we were in for a long night,” Cardinals’ head coach Todd Harr said of the 25-5 opening set loss to Colville. “The night turned around and we battled the rest of the night,” falling 25-21 and 25-17.

Harr singled out the play of Kristina Michener who led her team with six digs and a pair of blocks.

Another slow start plagued the Cardinals at Deer Park as they lost the opening set 25-6, but played what Harr called possibly their best set of the year, losing 25-21.

Katie Kepner and Hailey Hostetter earned Harr’s praise as Kepner had nine assists and Hostetter 17 digs.
