Blackhawks split with West Valley, prep for districts

Even though the outcome last Wednesday at West Valley may not have been quite to his liking, Cheney High cross country co-coach Derek Slaughter still thinks the 2016 season has set up well for Blackhawk success this Saturday at the District 7 meet in Clarkston.

The Cheney boys ran their Great Northern League record to 3-1 by edging a determined Eagles squad, 26-29, while the girls fell victim to a record day by three West Valley freshmen and one sophomore who ran like they had never run before, downing Cheney 24-31.
