The Medical Lake girls’ soccer team continued to live on the edge last week, but they have yet to fall off.
The Cardinals scored two Northeast A League victories on the road, 3-2 in double overtime versus Lakeside and 2-1 in a shootout against Freeman. The wins, which came as the Cardinals closed out the first half of play and entered the last round of NEA competition, left them tied with Deer Park for first place, each with 7-1 records.
“A couple of close ones,” head coach Zane Higgins said as he watched his team, which has now won four straight, improve to 7-3 overall.
