LOOKING BACK WITH THE CHENEY HISTORICAL MUSEUM

One hundred twenty-five years ago on Aug. 27 1891, fire destroyed the first State Normal School. The fire broke out at 1 a.m. in the wooden basement of a new building that was under construction. Mortar used to set bricks overheated catching the wall on fire. Both the main building and the new addition were destroyed. Learn more about our area's history at http://www.cheneymuseum.org.
