Jarms hosts 'Grill Your Ace Off' event, Aug. 13

The second part of Jarms Ace Hardware’s fundraising effort for the Children’s Miracle Network takes place Saturday, Aug. 13 when they present “Grill Your Ace Off” from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. The event takes place at the store at 6 Cheney-Spokane Road.

The event will include live music, food — including hot dogs and samples of smoked pork shoulder — prepared by Jarms employees on Weber and Traegger grills.

“This should be great for Children’s Miracle Network, as well as our whole community,” store manager Patti Bennett wrote in an email.

Jarms recently completed competition in the Miracle Bucket Challenge and raised $8,600. They will attempt to add to that number with a raffle for a variety of prizes including a Masterbuilt Smoker, a custom-made wishing well, a custom-built picnic bench, tools, rounds of golf and more.

Tickets are $5 and available at the store with all proceeds going to Spokane Children’s Miracle Network. The drawing will be held at 2:45 p.m. Saturday and ticket holders must be present to win.

A variety of vendors will be on hand, including the Eastern Washington University Surplus Store, to clear out some of their excess inventory.

Another community activity, the EWU Community Food Drive, will be in the Banner Bank parking lot across the street, collecting donations of food and cash.
