No more splinters

Another new set of bleachers is about to be built in the empty space at the Cheney Rodeo's Bi-Mart Arena.

The new seating area not only replaces another set of aging bleachers but will also increase capacity by 85 people. While some of the material has been donated and most of the labor is volunteer, the Cheney Events Association, which operates the arena and promotes the rodeo will be responsible for the $28,000 of hard costs. Work will start soon so that the upgraded section is ready for the 49th annual Cheney Rodeo, July 8–10....
