Betty Songaylo passed away at Hospice House South on Thursday, April 14, 2016. She was born in Spokane on Nov. 13, 1922, to parents Francis and Lena Thurmon and lived in Hayford, Wash. for most of her 93 years.
Betty attended Hayford School and graduated from Cheney High School in 1940. Following high school, she attended Kelsey Baird College in Spokane and worked at Fairchild Air Force Base. She met her husband, Ray, at Fairchild and they married on March 5, 1946. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1996.
