Money to help pay for fields at recreation complex
The Airway Heights City Council approved a work order to replace the roof of the community center, which sustained damage during the November 2015 windstorm.
At its April 4 meeting, the Airway Heights City Council passed a resolution allowing staff to submit an application for a Washington Wildlife Recreation Program (WWRP) grant from the state Recreation Conversation Office (RCO). Council held a public hearing for the grant application at the beginning of the meeting.
Parks, Recreation and Community Services Director J.C. Kennedy explained the grant would help fund construction of some amenities on the proposed recreational sports complex on 70 acres of city property south of Deno Road, west of Northern Quest Resort.
