Carol June Foland, 61, passed away on Feb. 21 at her home on the Pend Oreille River.

Carol was born May 24, 1954, in Ft Payne, Ala., the daughter of Austin and Helen Nash. Her early years were spent in the small town of LaCrosse, Wash. She and her family moved to Cheney where she graduated from Cheney High School and married her high school sweetheart. Carol worked for Washington State at Lakeland Village for over 30 years as a seamstress and retired in 2011.

Carol is being remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She made it a point to make everyone feel welcome with her warm, sweet smile. Her kindness and gentleness showed the second you met her. She will be fondly remembered always by those who had the chance to know her.

She is survived by her husband, Rod, two children, Travis “Cherise” and Jennifer “Mike”, and grandson Trevan. She is further survived by her mother, Helen Nash, Brother Roy, and Sisters Betty and Nikki along with many nieces, nephews, and relatives.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27 at the VFW, 1307 S. Loffler, Airway Heights.
