StageWest holds auditions for 'Getting Sara Married'

StageWest Community Theatre is holding open auditions for its next production, “Getting Sara Married” by Sam Bobrick and directed By Chris Booth. Auditions are Friday Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. and Saturday Feb. 20 at 1 p.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church 639 Elm St. in Cheney.

“Getting Sara Married” is a delightful comedy about an unmarried lawyer, Sara, her meddling aunt Martha who takes Sara’s marriage matters into her own hands, a prospective suitor Brandon, a very special delivery man Noogie and a very angry girlfriend Heather. Who cares that Brandon is engaged to Heather, Sara is too busy for a boyfriend and Noogie’s delivery methods are unscrupulous?

Laughter erupts over conversations, pops on the head and angry phone calls. But eventually life goes on.

StageWest is looking for a cast of three men and three women for the production. Rehearsals begin in March and performances are Friday April 22, April 29 and May 6 at 7 p.m., Saturday April 23, April 30 and May 7 at 7 p.m. and Sunday matinees April 24 and May 1 and 8 at 3 p.m.
