Lenora Kalous

Lenora Kalous resident of Medical Lake, Wash., passed away on Jan. 21, 2016 from complications due to congestive heart failure.

She was born the second day of August 1934 in Horton, Kan., to Anna and Lester Jerome. She graduated from Effingham High School in Effingham, Kan., in 1952. She married Robert Kalous March 15, 1953.

Lenora traveled with Robert as a military spouse and worked several jobs. They finally settled in Medical Lake in June 1966. She started work at the bank in Medical Lake in 1970 and retired from there in 1993.

Lenora enjoyed gardening and caring for her flowerbeds. She really liked to fish and was always proud of her catch. She liked to hunt with the family and also enjoyed socializing with friends and family.

Lenora is survived by her husband Robert and her sons, Robert and Marilyn Kalous of Cheney, Wash., Mark Kalous of Medical Lake and Jeff and Tinker Kalous of Prosser, Wash., daughters Vicki and Brad Morrison of Spokane, Wash., Lynn and Tom Irish of Spokane and Jean and Darrell Sansom of Touchet, Wash. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held at Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, at St. Johns Lutheran Church, 223 Hallett St., Medical Lake. An inurnment at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake was held the same day. In lieu of flowers please donate to St. Johns Lutheran Church.
