Cheney’s Gilbert receives STCU Credit 2 Kids award

Cheney High School student Mariah Gilbert was selected as the recipient of STCU’s (Spokane Teachers Credit Union) Credit 2 Kids award. STCU and Krem 2 recognized Gilbert for doing great work in school and her community. In honor of Gilbert, and in recognition of the great education the high school provides students, STCU made a $500 donation to CHS in her name.

West Plains residents make Gonzaga’s President’s List

The following Cheney and Medical Lake residents earned placement on the Gonzaga University President’s List for the 2015 fall semester.

Cheney: Tyler Gustafson.

Medical Lake: Cassandra Hiatt, Teresa Jensen, Cassi Nilles and Janine Warrington.

Students must earn a 3.7 to 4.0 grade-point average to be listed.

Pendleton and Simonsen make George Fox’s dean’s list

Cheney’s Kelly Simonsen, who is majoring in history and Medical Lake’s Jonah Pendleton, who is studying cinema and media communication, made George Fox University’s dean’s list for fall 2015.

More than 850 traditional undergraduate students earned dean’s list recognition the fall 2015 quarter.

Students must earn a 3.5 grade point average or above on 12 or more hours of graded work to earn a spot on the dean’s list.

Medical Lake High School Booster Club Pasta Feed

The Medical Lake High School Booster Club is having a pasta feed, Saturday Feb. 20 at the middle school from 6-8 p.m.

Tickets are $8. Proceeds support the high school’s teams, clubs and activities.
