Comprehensive plan review could affect zoning, urban growth area

If a city's comprehensive plan updating process is like a surgical operation, then what the Cheney Planning Commission experienced at their meeting Jan. 11 can best be described as "pre-op."
City planner Brett Lucas and Public Works Director Todd Ableman gave the commission a short briefing on what to expect as they review and update the city's main long-range planning document. That briefing included a "work plan" for how the commission can expect to spend its meetings over the next one and a half years, with a hoped for final plan recommendation going to City Council sometime in June or July...
