Carolyn (Carol) Marie Wilford

Carolyn (Carol) Marie Wilford, age 70, of Cheney died Nov. 17, 2015 in a traffic accident, when her car was struck by a falling tree as she drove home from work in a storm. She was born in Madison County, N. C., on April 27, 1945, to Grover and Martha (King) Chandley. She was treasured as a mother, caregiver and friend.

Carol had eight siblings. Still living are Alvin ("Chubby") Chandley, Anna Lee Ferrini and Freda Gregg. She was preceded in death by brothers Aubrey Chandley, Joe Chandley, James Chandley, Crawford Chandley and Louie Chandley.

Carol had four children: Greg (Amy) Ammons of Cheney; Harvey (Christie Garcia) Wilford of Denver, Colo.; Rhonda (Scott) Kiser of Knoxville, Tenn and son Michael Ammons who died in 1980. Carol is also survived by two grandchildren, Anthony Ammons and Teagan Kiser, numerous nieces and nephews, and two former husbands, Carroll Ammons and Merle Wilford.

Carol loved gardening, fishing, art, and all animals, especially her deceased dogs, Duchess and Princess. She was employed as a professional caregiver for many years and devoted her time to caring for others. Carol was a generous, loving lady and will be missed deeply.

A private viewing for family was held in Cheney on Nov. 20 and cremation was handled by Cheney Funeral Chapel.
