Charlotte Ann Tackett Galloway

Charlotte Ann Tackett Galloway passed away peacefully on Nov. 1, 2015, due to Alzheimer's disease. Charlotte's family members were by her side and held her hands during her final days.

Charlotte was a strong, talented, independent woman. Born in 1932 in Broadus, Mont., she was the daughter of Charles and Rosamond Tackett and sister of Avalon (all deceased). Charlotte spent her childhood in California and moved with her parents to Spokane, Wash. when she was a teen. Charlotte met Kenneth Galloway when they both were attending Whitworth College. They were soon married and would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in February 2016.

Ken and Charlotte moved to Cheney in 1957 and were active members of the community, Eastern Star, Job's Daughters, Nile and Amber Grange. In 2000, they moved to Richland, Wash. to be closer to their oldest daughter, Rosanne and her family.

There was very little that Charlotte could not do well. She was an avid softball player, golfer, swimmer and bowler. She was an accomplished violinist, accordion player, seamstress and quilter. She held many jobs during her lifetime to help support her family, including working for the Cheney School District as a head cook, business office manager, special education assistant and softball coach. In her spare time, Charlotte even ran a ceramics business out of her basement. And through all of that, she still had dinner on the table every night.

Charlotte was dearly loved by her family. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Galloway; daughters Rosanne Cramer (Gary), Sharon Locey (Clinton), and Wendy Walther; son Matt; grandsons Scott, Marc (Jen) and Ryan (Lori) Cramer; granddaughter Shawna Locey Sandstrom (Per) and great-grandchildren Sara and Ryker Cramer.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
