The Cheney High girls swim team came off back-to-back home meets - a 93-35 win over Clarkston in their home opener, Oct. 1 and a 57-116 loss to Pullman, Oct. 3.
In the Clarkston meet, Alexis Schmidt qualified for state in the 200-yard freestyle after winning the event in 2 minutes and 8.33 seconds. Melissa Johnson (2:27.54) took third in the event.
Schmidt set a new season best after she took first in the 100 butterfly in 1.02.95 while Evarosa Perry (1:26.30) was third in the event.
