CHENEY

Sept. 9

Leslie A. Fordham, 19, and Sarah M. Giadone, 18, were arrested for minor in possession on the 600 block of Irene Place.

Financial fraud was reported on the 800 block of West First Street. An individual offered to buy a scooter for more than what was asked if the owner would cash a $2,100 check, keep $500 for the scooter and send the individual the rest, ostensibly for providing shipping of the scooter

A violation of a no contact order via third party was reported on the 2200 block of First Street. No arrests were made because there was no probable cause.

Sept. 10

Jacob Bjorklund, 19, was arrested at Cheney’s Municipal Court on three misdemeanor warrants out of Spokane and one warrant out of Cheney for second-degree driving while license suspended (DWLS).

Sept. 11

Second-degree theft was reported on the 200 block of Simpson Parkway. A man agreed to purchase a motorcycle, gave the money to the seller but has yet to receive the motorcycle.

Police approached a man who was carrying his shoes in his hands while screaming at cars on the 200 block of First Street. The officer discovered the man had a warrant out of Spokane, and arrested Kenneth R. Engle, 27, on the warrant.

Possible child neglect was reported on the 800 block of First Street. Two children, ages 3 and 4, wandered into a house. The children were determined to be from a house on the 700 block of First Street. The parents were contacted and questioned about the incident. Child Protective Services is investigating.

Sept. 13

Joseph R. Jorgenson, 19, was arrested for minor in possession at Betz Elementary School.

Suspicious circumstances were reported on the zero hundred block of Cheney-Spokane Road and the 2200 block of First Street. A man with what appeared to be a gun contacted individuals in the Cheney Trading Company parking lot. It was determined the guns were cap guns. No arrests were made.

Third-degree theft was reported on the 400 block of Washington Road. A 2.5-horsepower, two-stroke Mercury boat motor was stolen off of the back of a boat.

Third-degree theft was reported on the 400 block of First Street. A wallet was taken.

A bicycle was found at Brown Bear Carwash on the 2400 block of First Street.

Domestic violence was reported on the 500 block of Lincoln Street. An incident took place earlier in downtown Spokane when a couple, in the presence of their children, engaged in a loud argument about air pressure in a tire. Spokane Police Department responded and attempted to mitigate, but did not file a report. Once in Cheney, the wife called and asked the Cheney Police Department to take a report.

MEDICAL LAKE

Sept. 8

Malicious mischief was reported on the 1000 block of East Lake Street. Graffiti was found on a locker room door.

Theft was reported on the 500 block of East Campbell Street. A phone was taken and later returned to the victim.

Sept. 11

Theft was reported on the 300 block of South Lefevre Street. Rims were taken off a vehicle.

Assault was reported on the 1000 block of North Fox Ridge Road.

Drugs were reported on the 700 block of South Pine Street.

A two-vehicle collision was reported at East Fellows and North Stanley streets.

A sex crime was reported on the 500 block of East Campbell Street.

Sept. 12

Assault was reported at West First and North Lefevre streets.

Sept. 13

Assault was reported on the 800 block of West Maple Street.

Janelle M. Toepelt, 19, was arrested on the 500 block of East Barker Street for minor in possession of alcohol and marijuana (less than 40 grams). She was also arrested on four counts of possession of a controlled substance.

AIRWAY HEIGHTS

Sept. 9

William R. Rentz, 62, was arrested on the 1200 block of South Hayford Road for third-degree DWLS.

A runaway juvenile was reported on the 600 block of South Ziegler Street. The juvenile returned home later that day.

A hit-and-run accident was reported on the 12500 block of West 20th Avenue.

Sept. 10

Shay L. Haine, 29, was arrested on the 1200 block of South Hayford Road for third-degree theft/shoplifting.

Forgery was reported on the 11400 block of West 21st Avenue.

Sept. 11

Incidents of domestic violence, residential burglary and a domestic violence no contact order violation were reported on the 12600 block of West Highway 2.

Sexual assault of a minor was reported on the 12700 block of West Powder Court.

A vehicle theft was reported on the 1200 block of South Hayford Road.

Victor M. Maldonado, 70, was arrested on the 1200 block of South Hayford Road for third-degree theft/shoplifting.

Sept. 12

Emily A. McBride, 27, was arrested on the 10400 block of West Highway 2 for failure to comply on a first-degree criminal trespassing charge.

Third-degree theft was reported on the 13500 block of West 12th Avenue.

Third-degree malicious mischief was reported on the 1200 block of South Hayford Road.

Sept. 13

A runaway juvenile was reported on the 2000 block of South Craig Road. The juvenile has not returned home.

Third-degree theft was reported at West Eighth Avenue and South Lawson Street.

An attempted burglary was reported on the 800 block of South King Street.

Jason C. Kline, 31, was arrested on the 1200 block of South Hayford Road for third-degree DWLS.

Sept. 14

Second-degree assault/domestic violence was reported on the 12500 block of West 20th Avenue.

Domestic violence/verbal dispute was reported on the 10600 block of West 12th Avenue.
