Mitchell honored by CFL
Former Eastern Eagle and current Calgary Stampeders quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell has been named the player of the week in the Canadian Football League.
Mitchell earned the nod after throwing for two touchdowns and rushing for two more in a 48-3 victory over the Ottawa RedBlacks on Aug. 15. The four-year veteran from Katy, Tex., completed 17 of 25 passes for 243 yards and ran the ball three times for 22 yards before being taken out of the game in the third quarter.
