Accident caused by heart attack

A heart attack led to the death of a St. Maries, Idaho man in an accident that occurred Tuesday, Aug. 18, at the Medical Lake Interstate 90 interchange.

According to a Washington State Patrol press memo, 65-year-old Kenneth L. Burch was entering I-90 westbound off State Route 902 at the interchange just after noon when he suffered a heart attack. The vehicle he was driving, a 2012 Kenworth tractor, subsequently left the roadway to the northwest, went through a field and struck a private fence before coming to rest.

Burch was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin were notified by the Benewah County Sheriff’s Office.
