Eldora May Lachelt White passed from this earth on July 31, 2015. Born to Fred and Linda Lachelt on Aug. 20, 1928 in Richford Township, Waushara County, Wisc.
The first of three daughters, Eldora grew up on the family farm. On Jan. 16, 1949 she married her husband Samuel B. White. They were happily married for 57 years until his death in 2006.
Eldora and her husband traveled the world with the U. S. Air Force until Samuel’s retirement at Fairchild Air Force Base. With their two children they settled in Cheney in 1967. Eldora was a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 72 where she held varies positions.
Eldora was preceded in death by her husband, her parents Fred and Linda Lachelt and her sister Ruth Lobby. She is survived by her sister Viola Schwanke of Coloma, Wisc.; her daughter Betty (White) Heaney of Cheney, and her son Paul White and his wife Shelia of Herndon, Va. Also left behind are her grandchildren Jennifer (Heaney) Saladis of Algona, Wash.; Jason Heaney of Cheney; Tech. Sgt. Adam Heaney of Hickam AFB, Hawaii; Seth and Connor White of Herndon, Va. as well as her beloved great-grandchildren Sarah Saladis and Chase Heaney.
