The chart above shows a portion of the Cheney Police Department's budgets from 2013-2015. Even though the percentage of budget year to date is smaller in 2015 than in 2014 for Overtime (General Fund), the bar for 2015 is larger because of a $10,000 increase in overtime funding approved by the City Council for 2015.
With a few exceptions, most categories in the Cheney Police Department's year-to-date figures from the June Monthly Accountability Report (MAR) reflect a downward trend when compared to this time last year.
Uniform Crime Reports (UCR) totaled 286 through the first half of 2015, compared to 303 in 2014, a decrease of just over 5.6 percent. Seven of the 11 categories were at or near 2014 levels, with significant decreases seen in assaults (24.49 percent), burglaries (32.14 percent) and criminal alcohol offenses (46.67 percent).
