The Cheney Summerhawks 15U baseball team continued to grind through their season after losses to the Joes, 11-6, July 7, and the Hurricanes, 2-1, on Monday.
Against the Joes, Cheney got a burst of offense early, leading for most of the game. Down 4-1 in the fifth inning, the Joes came back to take the lead and kept it for the rest of the game.
Despite the loss, head coach Nick Fell complimented his team’s pitching and offense.
“We swung the bats really well, but we just couldn’t capitalize,” Fell said.
