The Cheney Summerhawks 17U baseball team came off another busy weekend after they went 2-2 in the East Valley Red Hawk Classic Tournament, July 9-12, in Yakima. They lost to Sedro Woolley, 11-6, and Arlington, 8-0, then defeated Sunnyside, 9-6, and Yakima Rattlers, 11-7, in the consolation bracket.
Cheney started the tournament against Sedro Woolley in what head coach Austin Sharp described as a "back-and-forth" game. After Cheney led 6-5 in the sixth inning, Sedro Woolley scored six runs to take the lead.
