It took a little while for Medical Lake’s veteran tennis coach, Dawn Eliassen, to realize that it was her boys, and maybe not the defending Northeast A League champion girls that were going to excel in 2015.
“It didn’t really occur to me that it was possible until we were at Lakeside early in the season, maybe our third match,” Eliassen said. “We lost it, but shouldn’t have.”
That’s when it clicked into place for her that there was a ton of potential in the boys and coaches just had to find a way for them to recognize it and put it to use.
