District 7 schools recently announced their 2015 Champion of the Stars award winners for the 2A, 1A, 2B and 1B classifications.
Winners at Cheney High School in the 2A classification were Peter Condon, Male Special Olympics Athlete of the Year; Rosa Delgado, Female Special Olympics Athlete of the Year and Isaiah Rigo, Wheelchair Athlete of the Year. The Blackhawks Special Olympics basketball team received the award for sportsmanship.
The Medical Lake High School boys cross country team received the 1A classification Male Team of the Year Award while Cardinals cross country coach Gene Blankenship was named Male Coach of the Year.
