Cheney United Church of Christ

Eastern Washington University students who sing in our church choir are performing in various concerts at EWU: June 4, Spring Choral Concert; June 5, Jazz Bash and the June 7 Opera Workshop. Kate Sloan, our music director, invites everyone to find the concert details. We really appreciate all the choir members and the keyboardist for their worship music.

Summer worship continues at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary with Sloan leading the congregation in hymn singing, followed by cookies and chatting in the fellowship hall afterwards. Thank you also to the church council for providing the taco feed and the gospel sing-a-long last Sunday.

For your contemplation: “In The Little Virtues, the Italian essayist Natalia Ginzberg argues that we should teach our children ‘…not the little virtues but the great ones. Not thrift but generosity and an indifference to money, not caution but courage and a contempt for danger; not shrewdness but frankness and a love of truth; not tact but love for one’s neighbor and self-denial; not a desire for success but a desire to be and to know,’” Paul Rogat Loeb, Soul of a Citizen.

United Methodist Church

Worship with us this Sunday at the United Methodist Church. Service begins at 10 a.m. and will include the celebration of Holy Communion. Pastor Alissa Bertsch-Johnson will continue a sermon series on the book of Acts. High school and college graduates will be honored during the service.
