The defending Northeast A League girls champion Medical Lake Cardinals ended up close to scoring a repeat but will finish third in the standings following three straight wins to close the regular season.
The Cardinals earned a 3-2 win over Chewelah May 5, a 4-1 victory against Riverside May 7 and topping Deer Park 4-1 at home May 8 to complete the solid week. Medical Lake finished the season strong winning five of their final six matches and are 7-3 in league play.
