Two more tough one-run losses to Deer Park added to the frustration this baseball season for Medical Lake last week.
The Cardinals fell 4-3 in nine innings May 5 and 5-4 on April 28 and have dropped six of their last seven Northeast A League games going into a first-round, loser-out playoff game May 12 at Lakeside (9-5 NEA, 11-8 overall).
Perhaps the Cardinals’ most deflating defeat was the 5-4 setback where they appeared to be cruising to victory with a 4-0 lead and needing only three outs to get the win over the Stags (10-5, 13-6).
