Cheney's Ryan Smedley continues to find success at the No. 1 singles spot. Smedley went 3-0 this past week, including a 6-1, 6-1 win over West Valley's Cameron Connor, who defeated him earlier this season.
The Cheney High boys tennis team continued their season with a busy week, defeating GNL rivals Pullman, 4-3, April 21, and West Valley, 6-1, April 23. The Blackhawks also picked up a 6-1 nonleague win against North Central, April 24.
Ryan Smedley, No. 1 singles, rebounded from the Clarkston loss and won all three of his matches, defeating Pullman's Jacob Peru (6-0, 6-1), West Valley's Cameron Connor (6-1, 6-1) and North Central's Jayden Gage (6-1, 6-3).
