Cardinal track gets NEA road wins at Newport

Medical Lake got a Northeast A League track triple-dual track meet victory, spiced with just a touch of revenge April 22 at Newport.

The Cardinal boys scored an 88-45 win over Newport and 86-62 against Freeman on the strength of their runners. The ML girls lost 98-49 to Newport and 116-36 to Freeman the same day.

“The thing is we were really competing against Freeman,” Medical Lake co-head coach Gene Blankenship said. “They beat us by one point, same place last year.”
