Edward "Tom" Presnell

1923 – 2015

Edward "Tom" Presnell passed away on March 29, 2015 at the age of 92 in Spokane, Wash. Tom was born on Feb. 2, 1923 to Karl and Etta Presnell in Cheney, Wash. He graduated in 1941 from Cheney High School. He served in the U.S. Army for two years and was discharged just after World War II.

Tom was a Past Worthy Patron of the Eastern Star, Past Worshipful Master of Temple Masonic Lodge No. 42, a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies and the El Katif Shriners. 

Tom married Bonnie Harris in 1963, raised three sons and started and owned the Presnell Mobile Home Park in Cheney for 40 years. He also worked for the United States Postal Services until his retirement in 1985. 

His parents, two brothers, Elmer and Clifford Presnell and his first wife Pauline Presnell preceded Tom in death. He is survived by his wife Bonnie Presnell; children Richard and Sandi Harris of Coburg Ore., Jeff and Kimberly Harris of Medical Lake, Wash., and Martin and Deena Presnell of Sandpoint, Idaho; grandchildren, Rob Harris, Blake Harris, Brianna Harris, Max Harris, Jared Presnell and Makenna Presnell and two great-grandchildren, Nathan Harris and Devin Harris.

Tom was a hard worker who adored his grandchildren and always had a witty joke to tell. A celebration of Tom's life will be held on Friday, April 3 at 11 a.m. at Moran United Methodist Church, 3601 East 65th Ave. in Spokane, Wash. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriner's Hospital at shrinershospitalforchildren.org or the charity of your choice.
