The Cheney Police Department was actively pursuing grants to cover the $1,200-$2,000 per unit cost of defibrillators that officers would carry in patrol cars to use in case of emergency.

Youngsters from both Cheney and Medical Lake took part in annual Easter egg hunts and collected some 3,000 eggs in events sponsored by the local Kiwanis clubs.
