'Messiah in the Passover' presentation at Westside Chapel

“Messiah in the Passover,” a vivid and exciting demonstration showing how Jesus fulfilled the ancient feast of Passover, will be held Sunday, March 15, 10:30 a.m. at Westside Chapel.

Alan Shore of Chosen People Ministries will conduct the presentation. Chosen People is an over 100-year-old mission founded in 1894 by Leopold Cohn, a Hungarian rabbi who came to believe that Jesus is the Messiah promised in the Hebrew scriptures. From humble beginnings in Brooklyn, N.Y., Chosen’s “Messiah in the Passover” begins with the traditional Passover Seder table — complete with all the articles of this important Jewish celebration. The speaker explains the symbolic meanings of the various items of the Passover feast and highlights their relationship to the Last Supper the Messiah celebrated with the disciples, giving special emphasis on the redemptive significance of the crucifixion.

“The benefit of the Messiah in the Passover presentation,” a spokesperson for Chosen People Ministries said, is that it “gives the Christian community insight into Jewish tradition so that the Jewish roots of Christianity can be better understood. This program also helps the Jewish and Christian communities understand their common heritage.”

The meeting is open to the public. Westside Chapel invites the Christian as well as the Jewish community to attend, as well as anyone else interested.

Westside Chapel is located at S. 14408 State Route 904, just a mile north of Cheney, across from the Cheney Rodeo grounds. For more information call (509) 235-2600, or email pastor Terry Roberts at tjroberts@me.com.

A love offering will be taken to help defray Shore’s traveling expenses.
