Curbside recycling might become a reality in the city of Medical lake.
At the Feb. 3 City Council meeting, Mayor John Higgins and City Administrator Doug Ross informed the council they had met with Sunshine Disposal and Recycling to discuss curbside recycling services for the city.
Ross explained that signing with Sunshine would have increased a resident’s garbage bill by $5.75, but due to the reduction in tipping fees from the city’s agreement with the city of Spokane and Spokane County for solid waste services, the increase will be around $3.50.
