Cheney Book Club meets

“The Spymistress,” a thrilling novel of the Civil War, is the January selection of the Book Discussion Group of the Friends of the Cheney Community Library. The group meets Tuesday, Jan. 27, at 7 p.m. at the library. All are welcome to attend.

In “The Spymistress,” author Jennifer Chiaverini tells the story of a Union sympathizer, a woman living in Richmond during the war. She risks her life and those of others to aid Union prisoners and to smuggle information to Union generals. Solid historical research and a compelling story make for an exciting read.
