In his first year as Cheney head coach, Brad Rasmussen helped seven wrestlers advance to regionals. Josh Wessels took third in the 170-pound division at the Mat Classic XXVI state championships. Devon Waterman also qualified for the Mat Classic at 182. This year several Blackhawk wrestlers have taken the top three spots in various tournaments. Cheney faces West Valley in their first Great Northern League dual, Jan. 7.
