Cheney Community Church

 We welcome you to worship with us during the Advent season this coming Sunday, Dec. 21, at 10 a.m. The Children’s Christmas program will be presented.                                                                               

Everyone is excited to tell the story of Jesus’ first advent through drama and music. Nursery care is provided each week during the worship time.

The Youth in Action group for middle school and high school youth meets each Sunday at 8:55 a.m. There is a prayer time for adults at 9 a.m.

The Primetimers group (55-plus) will gather at the church, Friday, Dec. 19, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. to celebrate Jesus’ birthday with a potluck meal and fellowship.

A Christmas Eve candlelight service is scheduled for Dec. 24, at 5 p.m. The community is invited to join us as we enjoy music of the season and a special program.

The Awana Club will not meet Dec. 24 or Dec. 31.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church

A welcoming haven, nourishing all God’s people in body, mind and spirit. Holy communion at 11 a.m. The Rev. Christine Soule will preach and preside at the Fourth Sunday of Advent and Advent Candle Liturgy. Christmas Eve service will be at 7 p.m.

Attention college students: Each Monday at 5 p.m. you are invited to join us for dinner, study and devotions. Narcotics Anonymous meets Tuesday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 in the parish hall.

Fellowship breakfast is each Thursday morning at 7:30 in the parish hall. Come and bring a friend.

United Church of Christ

Are you ready for Christmas Eve? The choir will be working on that during the Dec. 18 practice, both on the anthem for Sunday, Dec. 21 and the two anthems for Wednesday, Dec. 24. ‘Tis the season to be singing.

All are welcome to attend both of these services, whether you’ve attended our church before or not. Sunday worship, Sunday school and child care all start at 10 a.m.

The Christmas Eve service begins at 7 p.m. and activity kits will be available for children who sit with their parents.

May your experience during these services be as touching and meaningful as was the children’s Christmas program with carols by the Eastern Washington University Caroling Choir this past Sunday, Dec. 14. Thank you to all participants.

United Methodist Church

Celebrate the fourth Sunday of Advent this week at the United Methodist Church. Worship is at 10 a.m. led by pastor Alissa Bertsch-Johnson.

At 4 p.m. Sunday the chancel choir will present a glorious Christmas cantata, “Let Heaven and Nature Sing.” All are welcome at this wonderful musical event that includes the West Plains Bell Choir, scripture and beautiful music.

Christmas Eve services are Dec. 24 at 5 and 7 p.m. with time for fellowship in between. Both services will be traditional candlelight services with communion served at the 7 p.m. service. Please join us as we celebrate Jesus’ birth.
