Deadlines for submitting West Plains Briefs is noon Monday. Briefs should be under 100 words if possible. Briefs may be edited for length.

Cheney UCC Bazaar

Cheney United Church of Christ will hold its annual bazaar and lunch this Saturday Nov. 8 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at 423 N. Sixth St., corner of North Sixth and Oakland streets. 

Several varieties of homemade soups and breads (including gluten free) as well as a wide assortment of pies will be served from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Homemade jams, baked goods, garden produce, handcrafts, and a silent auction of goods and services will be featured. 

An intricate quilt made by Pam Mostek will be raffled, with the winner being drawn at 2 p.m.

St. Paul Holiday Bazaar

The Annual Holiday Bazaar at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 625 C St., Cheney, will take place this Saturday, Nov. 8, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., offering baked goods, hand crafts, and gently used collectibles. There will also be a raffle for a Christmas block quilt, and author Rita Seedorf will be present to autograph her new book, “Letters From Brackham Wood.”

Book Club meeting Nov. 10

The Medical Lake Book Club will welcome local author Esther Ruud Stradling to their Nov. 10 meeting.

The meeting will start with refreshments and social time at 12:30 p.m. followed by Stradling’s discussion of her grandfather’s biography in her book “American Fever: A Biography of Ole Ruud, Pioneer of the Washington Territory.” Ruud homesteaded in the Waterville, Wash. area. Everyone is welcome.

The book club meets in the Medical Lake Library at 321 E. Herb St.

Feed Medical Lake dinner

Feed Medical Lake invites resident to the “Count Your Blessings” dinner, Nov. 10, 5-6 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 223 S. Hallett St.

Roast pork, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, almondine and pumpkin pie are on this month’s menu.

Gardeners of Cheney

The Gardeners of Cheney Club will meet Monday, Nov. 10 at the Sessions Village Center of the Cheney Care Center.

The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. Visitors are welcome.
