Eastern tops stubborn Northern Colorado

In a game where turnovers were seen as the key to victory, Eastern Washington won both battles last Saturday at Roos Field.

Neither was by a big margin, however, in EWU’s 26-18 Big Sky Conference football victory over the Northern Colorado Bears before another sellout crowd of 10,064 on Military Appreciation Day.

It was an interception by redshirt freshman Victor Gamboa — the only turnover lost by either team — with 2 minutes, 2 seconds to play that sealed the victory for Eastern. The No. 2-ranked Eagles ran their conference winning streak to 14, improved to 4-0 in league play and 7-1 overall....
