Blackhawks' miscues lead to 17-14 Homecoming loss

Cheney tight end Keenan Williams hauls in a pass and turns up field for yardage against West Valley's defense in the first half of Friday night's Homecoming game with the Eagles.

It's hard to win when you get triple-teamed.

That was the case for the Cheney High School football team last Friday night, who not only found themselves battling a very good West Valley team but also themselves, and consequently the officials in a 17-14 Homecoming loss to the visiting Eagles.

"It was a winnable game," Cheney head coach Bobby Byrd said. "We had opportunities and we let them slip away."
