Spokane County Sheriff deputies, Spokane County Fire District 3 firefighters and the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) responded to a power pole fire on State Route 902 and Welcome Road, two miles east of Medical Lake, Oct. 14 at 11:10 p.m. WSDOT requested Avista to come to the scene to help with traffic control.
WSDOT and Avista closed the westbound lanes between Welcome Road and Craig Roads on SR 902 and provided an alternate route to drivers. Crews reopened westbound lanes, Wednesday morning at 8 a.m.
