EWU libraries' 'Oktoberfest' takes on Old West flavor

Major endowment fundraiser is Saturday, Oct. 25, at JFK

EWU's annual Oktoberfest hopes to eventually raise $1 million to be used towards materials for the university's libraries.

Forget the Oom-pah music and lederhosen.

This year's annual Oktoberfest fundraiser for Eastern Washington University's Libraries, taking place Saturday, Oct. 25, is called the Eastern Stampede and has an Old West theme to it.

"We have a tag of Oktoberfest but it's about as far from Oktoberfest as you can possibly get," Carol King, director, library engagement and external relations, said.

The event, which takes place at JFK Library, runs from 5-10:30 p.m. and will include live and silent auctions, western music, entertainment and food, including beer and wine tasting.
