Coats 4 Cheney Kids drive in need of donations

Warm weather hasn’t gotten residents to think about wearing coats, let alone donating them

Unseasonably warm fall weather likely hasn’t led Cheney residents to think too much about wearing coats, let alone donating them. Volunteers at Cheney’s annual Coats 4 Cheney Kids coat drive hope that changes — at least the donation part.

Kiwanis member Margie Lindner said collection efforts got a slow start this year, with boxes getting out to local businesses and other locations about a week late. They have put out more boxes and flyers advertising the drive, and as of last week had about six good-sized bags full of coats.
