Andy W. Pribnow, 11/21/1916 – 12/20/2004

Noreen Pearson Pribnow, 91, beloved mother and friend, died Aug. 13, 2014. Born June 2, 1923, in Manchester, N.H., the only child of the late Theodore and Amelia Mae Pearson, she grew up in Ashton, R.I. and earned her registered nurse degree in 1944, at the Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, R.I.

Noreen joined the U.S. Army Corps in 1945, ranked as a second lieutenant. Her first assignment was on the island of Tinian in the South Pacific's Marianna Islands during WWII, where she met her future husband, U.S. Army Maj. Andy W. Pribnow. They traveled the U.S. and Germany during Andy's 31-year career, raising four children and making new and forever friends along the way.

Noreen was a devoted, loving wife, mother and Nana, a wonderful hostess and helpmate to Andy during his career. Andy's final assignment was as professor of military science at Eastern Washington State College (now Eastern Washington University) in Cheney from 1967 – 1971. Having formed close friendships, Noreen and Andy were happy to make Cheney their retirement home where they remained very active in their church (Emmanuel Lutheran) and community while they traveled the U.S and Europe visiting their cherished family and friends.

Their final move was to Henderson, Nev. in 1997, for health reasons and to be closer to family. Noreen will be greatly missed by those that love her and they will treasure their memories of her forever.

Noreen is predeceased by her husband, Andy. She is survived by her son, Ted (Morilee) Pribnow; her daughters, Rita (Bill) Ferguson, Valerie Pribnow, Sharlene "Bobbi" P. Harris; granddaughters, Alyssa Alderman, Cheryl Cagle, Jennifer Pribnow; great-granddaughters, Avery and Brooke Cagle and niece Judy Ellwein.

Noreen will rest alongside her beloved Andy in the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Ore. Service is set for Oct. 13, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. If you would like to attend, please contact Sharlene Harris at (520) 730-5313.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial gifts be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Cheney.
