Gardeners meeting Sept. 8

The Gardeners of Cheney meets Monday, Sept. 8, at 6:30 p.m. at the Sessions Village Center. Club members will share their craft ideas. Guests are always welcome.

Feed Medical Lake Sept. 8

Feed Medical Lake hosts the Medical Lake Library at the free meal and free grocery event on Sept. 8 from 5 - 6 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 223 S. Hallett St.

The meal will consist of spaghetti with/without meat sauce, garlic bread, salad and cobbler. For more information, contact Joanna Williams at (509) 714-1150.

Catholic myths discussed

St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 460 N. Sixth St., would like to invite the public to an evening with Fr. Darrin Connall, Rector of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes. Fr. Connall will be giving a presentation on the “Myths about the Catholic Church.”

If you’ve ever wondered why Catholics believe what they do, or if you are interested in the Catholic faith, or would like to return to the Church, please join us Thursday, Sept. 18 at 6:30 p.m. in the parish hall. The church is located directly across North Sixth Street from Cheney High School.

Latin American festival Sept. 6

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints along Melville Road near Four Lakes is sponsoring a Latin American Festival Saturday, Sept. 6, from 6-10 p.m. Come enjoy a Latin American cultural celebration featuring songs, dances and family dance.

The event is free, and takes place at Rogers High School in Spokane, 1622 E. Wellesley Ave.

Square dancing begins Sept. 7

Beginning square dance lessons start again on Sundays, beginning Sept. 7, 2-3:30 p.m. at Cheney’s City Hall. 

The Hi-Flyers Dance Club in Cheney is the fastest growing club in the Inland Northwest. Everyone is encouraged to relax, laugh, dance, make some mistakes, but most of all, to have fun.

Lessons are $4 per person, but each person’s first lesson is free. Casual clothing is encouraged.
