At the June 7 meeting, the Airway Heights City Council authorized a work order for Century West Engineering to develop a pavement management plan for the city.
Public Works director Kelly Williquette explained that the management plan would consist of doing an inventory of all pavements, streets and sidewalks.
Williquette said the city would go and take a coarse sample of asphalt from the base and sub base of paved streets and gravel roads.
“This is something we do every year,” Williquette said. “We’ll break out a chunk of asphalt and do a pavement condition rating.”
