Cheney's Scott Tobin named Special Olympics Athlete of the Year

Besides being named the state's 2014 Special Olympics Athlete of the Year, Scott Tobin is also planning on rappelling from the roof of the 20-story Bank of America Financial Center in Spokane to raise money for Special Olympics.

Cheney's Scott Tobin has been the recipient of numerous honors over the years, but the latest might be the most special.

Tobin has been named the Special Olympics Washington 2014 Athlete of the Year, receiving the award May 9 at the 20th annual Breakfast of Champions at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle. Tobin was one of four regional nominees from around the state, and was chosen through a partnership between Special Olympics and Coca-Cola.
