Spokane County Fire District 3, Medical Lake Fire Department, Spokane County Sheriff’s Office and American Medical Response responded to a structure fire on South Salnave Road, outside of Medical Lake.
According to Spokane County District 3 Fire Chief Bruce Holloway, the blaze destroyed a trailer and burned one room of an attached garage before firefighters put it out.
Holloway said the man who lived in the home was found at a neighbor’s’ house and taken to the hospital for second- and third-degree burns.
The man told firefighterds was he cooking when the fire started. Although firefighters determined that the fire did start in the kitchen, they were unable to detect the actual cause of the blaze.
