The Cheney City Council took the first step towards putting a measure on the September ballot to counter Initiative 864, a measure proposed by Tim Eyman that would slash the city’s property tax revenues by about $180,000.

The on again, off again Silver Hills development in Medical Lake was slowly moving ahead under the leadership of developer Larry Pilcher who had dissolved his partnership with Dennis Hill.

Regan Dulaney, a graduate of the University of Wyoming, was named as the new Cheney Lady Hawks basketball coach, replacing April Arland who resigned April 28.
